For patients with positive colon or rectal screening results we provide Fast-Track Colonoscopy within 2 weeks of contacting our office.**
All non-colonoscopy screening tests require follow up confirmatory colonoscopy.
Non-colonoscopy screening tests:
- Fecal DNA Test (e.g. Cologuard)
- Fecal Immunochemical Test (FIT)
- High Sensitivity Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT)
- CT Colonography (Virtual Colonoscopy)
We at SPOKANE GASTROENTEROLOGY recognize that delay in obtaining follow up colonoscopy after a positive screening test can be very stressful for patients, friends and family and cost precious time during which treatment could be underway.
Patients with positive screening tests are given top priority within our Open Access Endoscopy Program.
Our Fast Track Colonoscopy is offered as part of our Direct Access Endoscopy (also known as Open Access Endoscopy) Program in which patients are pre-screened by reviewing their medical records and a telephone interview so most patients can arrive directly to their colonoscopy or upper endoscopy, saving time and cost. Patients with positive screening tests are given top priority within our Open Access Endoscopy Program.
**Excellent care and patient safety are our top priorities. SPOKANE GASTROENTEROLOGY reserves the right to ask certain patients with other significant health issues to be seen prior to endoscopy for an office visit. Both office visit and follow up colonoscopy will be expedited.
